How to reach CHATAKPUR
By Air:
- The nearest airport to Chatakpur is Bagdogra Airport. From Bagdogra, it takes approximately two and a half hours to reach the village.
- Upon landing at Bagdogra Airport, you can opt for a rented car to continue your journey to Chatakpur.
- The closest railway station to Chatakpur is New Jalpaiguri Junction (NJP), which is adjacent to Siliguri.
- From NJP, you can take a route towards Kurseong and then follow the Hill Cart Road. At Sonada, take the Forest Office Road, which eventually joins the Chatakpur Road.
- The distance from NJP or Bagdogra to Chatakpur is approximately 6 kilometers, and the journey takes around 2 hours and 20 minutes.
- If you’re coming from Darjeeling town, it takes about 1 hour 30 minutes to reach Chatakpur. Alternatively, you can first travel down to Sonada (approximately a 50-minute drive from Darjeeling.
